Chief Executive Officer of the Charles & Keith Group is the recipient of this year’s SOE Entrepreneurship Award 2012.
From the start-up of a small store in Amara Shopping Centre to growing the brand globally to more than 300 stores across the Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and Middle East region, Charles & Keith has succeeded in bringing their brand of fast-fashion strategy across the globe through innovation and sheer determination.
Initially starting off as a retailer for footwear, Mr Charles Wong realized the potential of a market for ladies footwear that fit the Asian feet. From just a ladies footwear retailer, Charles & Keith now designs, manufactures and retails their own brand of ladies footwear, bags, accessories including their own line of bracelets launched last year.
Aside from taking the business globally, CharlesKeith.com their online business – the first in Singapore has also contributed to the success of the brand by shipping to over 70 destinations worldwide.
Believing in hiring the right talent for the job and that people are their greatest asset, the Group now hires more than 1000 employees and has brought the brands to new heights with its innovative product extensions. The Group carries 3 distinctive brands mainly the Charles & Keith brand, the Charles & Keith Signature Label brand and the Pedro brand which has a distinctive line catered to both men and women.
